Will it fit in a stocking?

The maker gives 180 × 83 cm. The whole pack is bigger than one piece, so we don't call it stocking-sized.

In detail

The problem

Many 6ft trees spread so wide they swallow the sofa and block the doorway.

Why this one

180 cm tall and 83 cm across at the widest point. That's the size the maker gives for this 6ft tree, which leaves room to walk past it in an average living room.

Its 550 PVC tips sit on hinged metal branches, so they drop into place as you lift each section in. There are no lights fitted: add your own string.

Tall, but not too wide01

Tall, but not too wide

The maker's measurements give 180 cm in height and 83 cm across. Under a standard 2.4 m ceiling you keep room for a star, and the tree can stand in a corner without pushing the furniture around.

Use the ceiling tool under the button to see the margin you'll have left.

Hinged, in three steps02

Hinged, in three steps

The metal hinges are built into the branches. Step one, set the top section; step two, attach the remaining sections; step three, fluff.

The maker suggests 30 to 45 minutes of fluffing for a good shape: it's the step that turns a flat-packed tree into a full one.

A blank canvas for decorating03

A blank canvas for decorating

With no lights built in and plain green tips, it takes any theme, from gold baubles to a rainbow of colours. Lights wind around the hinged branches easily.

It packs down again after Twelfth Night, branches folded up, ready for next year.

Frequently asked questions

How big is it?
180 cm tall and about 83 cm across at the widest point, according to the maker.
Is it pre-lit?
No, it comes without lights so you can add your own.
How long does it take to set up?
Slotting the sections together is quick; the maker suggests 30 to 45 minutes to fluff the branches for a full shape.
Will it arrive before Christmas?
We dispatch within 24 hours on working days, with tracking. Free delivery takes 7–9 working days, Priority (£2.90) 5–7. For Christmas, order by Thursday 10 December with free delivery, or by Monday 14 December with Priority. These dates are a recommendation, not a guarantee: December delays outside our control can happen. Most families put their tree up in early December, so ordering in November gives you the whole season.
What if it's not right?
Email help@stockingjoy.com first with your order number. You have 30 days from delivery to send it back unused and in its original packaging; if you change your mind, the return postage is yours. If it arrives faulty or damaged, email us a photo: we cover the return in that case. Keep the box: it's also the easiest way to store it in January.
